The Kent Food app connects you with all the people who make living & eating local possible.

Kent is known as the Garden of England with a huge variety of food either grown or produced within the county. This app will enable you to travel the length and breadth and discover the wonderful larder available. Buying local allows you to find fresh and interesting artisan products.

The app is easy to use to find food, buy food, eat food and cook food from Kent. With hundreds of producers listed in seven categories: Baked Goods, Condiments & Preserves, Confectionary, Dairy, Drinks, Fruit & Veg and Meat & Fish it has never been easier to source and buy local!

The app will use your location to automatically find producers, farmers markets and restaurants within a ten-mile radius or you can increase the search to show all producers listed in the county. Each producer features a map listing, directions, telephone number and many have website details and email contact form.

Buy local features the county’s Farmers Markets and the range of produce they sell. Only restaurants that are committed to using local produced food are shown on the Kent Food App so you can be sure that when you visit you will be getting a real taste of Kent.

The Kent Food app for iPhone is free to download from the App Store, with the iPad version in development. With 2 million people living in Kent and a large number of visitors from outside the county, this useful app will enable you to seek out local treasures whenever the mood takes you.

The app has been funded by Kent Downs & Marshes Leader who support rural initiatives and are keen to link small producers to the wider population.

The Kent Food app aims to showcase as many Kent producers, restaurants, markets and small holders as possible. Why Farming Matters in Kent has been working with Produced in Kent, Kent Farmers Market Association the NFU and other rural organisations to come up with a comprehensive list to help source our finest produce.
